ANGELINE CARPENTER MAGEE PATRICK
Angeline was my gr. grandmother. She was b. in IL (?) 1840 to 1850.
Lived in NE awhile & came to Madison Co., AR. A book I have says she
was on the run and married to a man they called "old man Magee". He had
honey and jewelry (they think he traded honey for jewelry). He got sick
and died in Madison Co., AR, and she married my gr. grandfather, Andrew
Jackson "Jack" Patrick. She d. in Madison Co., AR. AR census says her
father was from KY and mother from TN. She was very mysterious about
her past. She burned a trunk full of papers when her children were old
enough to read so they wouldn't know her past. She and Magee had a
daughter, Catherine, who was 3 years old in the 1870 AR census making
her born around 1867. Since there are Magees in Frontier Co., NE I
thought maybe someone would recognize the name. There is an Angeline
Carpenter in Harlan Co., NE around 1870-80 that I thought could be a
niece, but I am grasping at straws. If anyone has info., I would very
much appreciate it.
