Seeking information on Joseph ROFF and his wife Elizabeth Duvall Castlebury Crousen ROFF. They resided in two locations in Wilbarger Co. in about 1897, part in "White Rose" and part in "Beaver Creek" near his wifes son from her second marriage John CROUSEN. Joseph died in Dec 1897, leaving a wife and one married daughter Kate (Married Charles D. LEWIS). I am unsure if he died in wilbarger co. or in Roff Ok, where his nephews lived. Previously they had farmed in Throckmorton County.. and were married in Cooke COunty in about 1876. He was a brother to Major Chales Roff of Cooke and Grayson Counties. I am interested in anything anyone has regarding those names or the places.

I would greatly appreciate any and all information about my great- grandparents, Isaac M. SMITH, b. 29 Jun 1861; and Fannie W. WRIGHT (possibly BRIGHT), b. 11 Jul 1866. They were m. 25 Dec 1884 in her home (by Amos Richardson, a Baptist minister) - location of home unknown to me, believed to be in Wilbarger County. He built a beautiful two-story house in or near Oklaunion. They had eight children, including my grandmother, Elsie Lee ("Tot") SMITH. Would also appreciate information on marriage of Elsie Lee SMITH to my grandfather, Harry Lee STALCUP, possibly at Oklaunion or Vernon. Any information on his father, John Fontaine STALCUP, and John F.'s father Levi Hurd STALCUP. Have information to share on descendants of Isaac M. SMITH and Fannie WRIGHT, but no further info on their ancestors. Have information to share on ancestors and descendants of Harry Lee STALCUP and Elsie Lee SMITH. MOSS/RISA - Looking for any information on Clyde MOSS b ca 1910 possibly in Vernon, Wilbarger, TX. Mother may be Nola RIZA. At the age of 5 Clyde was sent from Vernon by train to Dallas - specifically to the Baptist orphan home where he stayed until age 16. I cannot substantiate that MOSS is correct and can find no RIZA in the Vernon area. Other leads have suggested WRIGHT as being part of the family - 1910 census in Vernon lists Nolia G. WRIGHT, dau of John and marriage records have Nola WRIGHT marrying S. DAVENPORT in Dec 1915. I have been to Vernon and searched marriage and death records in the courthouse. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can someone tell me if there is a Church of Christ church in Vernon TX that has been around since 1890 or earlier? My great-grandfather, Moses Nimrod Sevier, was a Church of Christ minister. He married his 3rd wife (not my great-grandmother) in Vernon in 1890. They were still there in 1891 when their 1st child was born. I am assuming he had a church in Vernon. Thanks!
