City Secretary has burial records and the District Court Clerk has divorce records.

Texas Birth Certificates

You should know:  Births in Texas were not recorded at the state level until 1903. It was as late as the 1930s before births were consistently recorded. The notation "Inf of", meaning "infant of", may appear instead of a first name in the birth indexes.

Texas Death Certificates

You should know:  Deaths in Texas were not recorded at the state level until 1903. It was as late as the 1930s before deaths were consistently recorded. In the case of the death of an infant, the notation "Inf of", meaning "infant of", sometimes appears instead of a first name in the death indexes. Women are sometimes listed under their husband's first name.

NOTE:  Copies of birth and death certificates are confidential under Texas law for 75 years for birth certificates and 25 years for death certificates from the date of the event. If the death was less than 25 years ago or the birth was less than 75 years ago, the certified copies can only be obtained by qualified applicants. If you are a qualified applicant, you may request a certified copy of a birth or death in Texas. If you do not meet the definition of a qualified applicant, you may request a Verification of Birth or Death Facts .

Verification of a birth or death record consists of a letter, which includes the person's name, date of event, county in which the event occurred, and state file number. Texas Vital Statistics has 4 ways for you to verify a birth or death in the State of Texas: by mail, by express mail, by fax, and in-person at Texas Vital Statistics in Austin. Verifications are available from 1903 to the present. However, the fee for a verification is non-refundable or non-transferable if a record is not found.

Texas Marriage Certificates

You Should Know:  Certified copies of marriage licenses are only available from the County Clerk of the county in which the event occurred.  In this case, it's the Wilbarger County Clerk.

The Texas Vital Statistics Office can provide a verification letter stating if a marriage or divorce was recorded in the state of Texas, however to obtain the actual marriage certificate or divorce record, you must contact the county clerk of the Texas county where the marriage occurred or the district clerk in the county where the divorce was granted.  Please consult the Wilbarger County Clerk.

You Should Know:  Certified copies of divorce decrees are only available from the District Clerk of the county in which the event occurred -- Wilbarger.

The Texas Vital Statistics Office can provide a verification letter stating if a marriage or divorce was recorded in the state of Texas, however to obtain the actual marriage certificate or divorce record, you must contact the county clerk of the Texas county where the marriage occurred or the district clerk in the county where the divorce was granted... again in this case, Wilbarger.
