I am looking for any info on SANDERS family who lived around Floresville
Tx. I was told that there was a Suzie Sanders who lived in Floresville.
My mother and her brother and sisters used to call her Aunt Suzie. I
don't have any other info on her. My grandfather was Taylor Wallace
Sanders Sr. He would visit friends in Floresville. He sold Fuller Brush
and had customers there. If anyone has any info please contact me.

I am searching for information on Marcelino T. VASQUEZ who was born in
Pandora, TX in 1918.He lived on his father's ranch in Stockdale area from
1920's until 1930's. In 1930's the ranch was taken back by bank &
family went to Mexico.. Father's name is Jose VASQUEZ. Marcelino VASQUEZ
returned in early 1940's with son Arnulfo a/k/a Arnold and wife Maria

Solomon B. JACKSON was b. bef. 1800 in SC or GA; he d. July 8, 1852 in
Sutherland Springs, Bexar Co., TX.
Susanna Marniva SIFFORD was b. 1810-1820 in MO; she d. on April 6, 1844
in Navarro Co., TX.
They had the following children:
Ancil McDonald JACKSON; Nathan JACKSON; Melissa Ann JACKSON; Aaron
William (Pony) JACKSON; Narcissa Jane JACKSON; and Dilla JACKSON.

William Hayes Benton married Bertha Viola TAYLOR, had nine
children and prior to Bertha he was married to Mary Elizabeth
THOMPSON, and Martha Florence LEACH.
John Giles Benton married Leila Melissa HODGES, William O. married Minne
E. ?, and Thomas L. married Maggie D. ?.
The Benton homeplace was near Seguin and Nixon. All of the Benton men
were Masons and part of the Nockenut, Dewville or Stockdale Masonic Lodge

I am searching for MARTHA GOODBREAD VAN DORN BIRD b.1836 in Ala.
and is the daughter of THOMAS GOODBREAD AND MALINDA BREWER and is the
sister of MARY GOODBREAD HEATHCOCK who was married to JOHN HEATHCOCK
and sister of ELIZABETH GOODBREAD DEGAN and JACOB DEGAN. Her family
resided in WILSON CO. GUADALUPE CO. and GONZALES CO. MARTHA and
EARL VAN DORN had three children, PERCY, LAMMIE BELLE VANDORN, CARR
DOUGLAS VAN DORN. MARTHA may have died abt 1872. Her parents may
have raised them in SEGUIN but their guardian was JACOB DEGAN.
DOUGLAS VAN DORN was my grandfather and was born 1861 in Ark. He
was killed in Wrightsboro Tx. in 1906 which is near Gonzales.

Looking for information on my great grandparents: James E. NEWTON and
wife Elvira F. COLLIER. James E. born about (1838 in Alabama?), died ?
but I believe it was after 1900 and possibly in Kerr County, Tx. His
father was James Henry Newton. Elvira F. COLLIER born about 1839 (in
Arkansas ?)and probably died in the same location as her husband, date ?.
Her parents were Tilmon E. COLLIER and Susan ?.
James and Elvira were married 7-27-1859 in Guadalupe County, Tx. They
bought land from Elvira's parents in Wilson County (near the Guadalupe
County line).
Their children were: James: b. abt. 1860; William E.: b. abt. 1862;
Frank: b. abt. 1864; Lee Andrew: b. 10-31-1865; Arthur Calvin: b. 3-21-1867; Weston Haile: b. 1-15-1870; Elmo Murry: b. abt. 1873; Sue Ella: b.
7-31-1874; Minnie Ervin: b. 1-20-1876; & Stella Jane: b. 8-19-1877.
Stella was my grandmother.
I believe that James & Elvira lived in several other counties

John SHERMAN b. NY, and Eliza Jane WILLIAMS, B. Arkansas, were married in
Atascosa Co Jan 1866. They owned land along Palo Alto Creek before moving
to Kerr Co, Tx. I am unable to find parents of either of these.
Children born in Atascosa included Alvira Louise, Charles Thomas,
William Oscar. John entered the Confederate Soldiers Home in Austin
in 1908 and died there in 1914. Eliza was in Pandora, Wilson Co,
on John's death. She died in San Antonio in 1919.
Any help on their parents would be greatly appreciated.

Eliza Ann McLain born 1825 Charleston. They moved to the Floresville area after 1865 with
thier eight children including Jamima Ann born 1860 and Charley J. who married Nannie E.
Jones in Floresville. Jamima married James Henry WHITEHOUSE in Floresville 26 June
1884.Thier six children, James Wilson, Mary Elizabeth, Lilian Grace, S. Clarence, Henry
Lioyd and Thoms Bruce, were all born at Marcelina, Wilson County from 1886 to 1897 then
the family moved to Arkansas.

Looking for information on the WEST surname. I have a James Hampton WEST who married Jane
Ann Unknown. James Hampton died in Wilson Co, TX in 1855. He had one known daughter named
Harriet WEST who married Peter F. TUMLINSON. Peter was also known as "Captain
Peter" because of his rank in the Texas Rangers. The TUMLINSON family played an
important role in many events in early Texas. Any information on the above surnames would

Iowa (1847-1854), Bates Co, MO (1854- 1857), Crawford Co, AR (1857-1859). Resided in
Sutherland Springs and Marcelena areas of Wilson County until his death in 1891. Children

Richardson and his family. One son George Washington Richardson arrived in then Bexar
County in 1854. Other Richardsons arrived in 1859 and settled first in Southerland Springs
and then later near Marcelena. Sons included Sam, John W., Tilmon Lorenzo Dow, William
Henry, and Edgar. Daughters included Margaret Richardson BARNES who married James Barnes
and Alice Richardson MERCHANT who married John Merchant - the latter two families lived in

Martha apparently buried Stockdale City Cemetery as "Matilda HURLEY
1862-1886". Other source says Annie L. NEAL was married to Charles C.
HURLEY. Annie NEAL was daughter of John Dillard NEAL and Abbie Hayes/HAYS.
John Dillard NEAL son of John NEAL and Ann SMITH. Charles Clement HURLEY was son of Felix
J. and Mary Ann HURLEY, all lived later in Atascosa County.

He died on July 26, 1915 on his farm in Wilson Co., TX. Their children were:

Samuel J.; Annie Lee; Mary E.; and Robert Lee. I have considerable information about the

HENDRICK, John Kane HENDRICK, Gertrude The Hendrick family immigrated to Sutherland
Springs from Ireland. John HENDRICK (alias John Kane) served in the Civil War for the
Union, returning to Sutherland Springs. He was murdered in 1883, near Stockdale, allegedly
by John DAINE, who was an imposter priest in the area. Gertrude and her family continued
to live in Sutherland Spr. Does anyone have any info on the HENDRICK family, or
"Father" DAINE?
Some info located in history paper called "The Solomon B. JACKSON Family in Wilson
County." I am wanting to contact the author, or someone in the JACKSON family re:
