Mrs. Dustman, early day resident, dies
Mrs. Nettie Mabel Dustman, 79, of 1103 Caroline
St., Clallam County resident 65 years, died Wednesday after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at the Harper Funeral Home Saturday at 1 p.m. with
the Rev. Lloyd F. Holloway officiating. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Ware, born June 20, 1882 in Patmos,
Ohio. She came here with her parents in 1897 and lived on a farm in the Dry
Creek area until she married Frank Dustman in 1900. Mr. Dustman, now deceased,
was one of the early day city marshals here and later was one of the city's
first electricians. Mrs. Dustman was a pioneer member of the First Methodist
Church and was active in church affairs until becoming ill. She was a member for
60 years of the Woman's Relief Corps and one of the local organization's oldest
members. Mrs. Dustman took a prominent part in many early day community
activities. Surving relatives include her son, Sam Dustman, Port Angeles; a
sister, Mrs. Daisy Sturdevant, Roseburg, Ore.; two brothers, George Ware,
Beloit, Ohio and Emory Ware, Mayor, Ariz.; three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
