Some Community Name Origins

Camano Island named for Lieutenant Don Jacinto Caamano of the Spanish Navy
Clinton named for Clinton, Michigan
Coupeville named for Thomas Coupe, retired sea captain who settled here
Freeland named for the Freeland Colony, a group of socialists who settled here and disbanded in 1904
Greenbank named for Green Bank, Delaware
Langley named for Judge J.W. Langley of Seattle
Mabana name combines first syllables of Mabel Anderson, daughter of a settler
Whidbey Island named after Joseph Whidbey of the Vancouver Expedition
