Wheeler School
The
Wheeler school was just a few miles outside of
Platteville, to the south.

Mead Consolidated Schools
1917-early 1960s.
Building torn down in the early 1970s. The gym,
build by the WPA in the 1930s was saved and is now part
of the Mead Elementary school building. Photo courtesy

Highlandlake School
1877-1921
Torn down in spring of 1921. The original one room
portion, is still in existence.
Privately owned and currently being used as pre-school.
Pleasant View School
1890s - 1927
Two room wood-framed school house. This had a hallway
dividing the two classrooms.
Originally located west of Weld County Road 5 on
Colorado Hwy 66. Abandoned when the new brick school
house was built on the corner of WCR 5 and Colorado Hwy.
