The Wheeler school was just a few miles outside of Platteville, to the south.

Mead Consolidated Schools
1917-early 1960s.

1877-1921
Torn down in spring of 1921. The original one room portion, is still in existence.
Privately owned and currently being used as pre-school.

1890s - 1927
Two room wood-framed school house. This had a hallway dividing the two classrooms.
Originally located west of Weld County Road 5 on Colorado Hwy 66. Abandoned when the new brick school house was built on the corner of WCR 5 and Colorado Hwy. 66. Date it disapeared or why, is unknown. Photo courtesy of Historic Highlandlake. Used with permission.
